Board of Assessors
The 3-member Board of Assessors, appointed by the Select Board, oversees the assessing office, ensuring the accuracy of the assessing database used for ad valorem taxation.
The Board is responsible for approving valuations and acting upon abatement applications as well as property tax exemption applications. With the assistance of the assessing staff, they manage the overlay account, provide new growth estimates during the budget process and compiles the necessary tax policy data used in the annual tax classification hearing.
